Waiting, suddenly has a new meaning

for Emilda, since one fateful morning

Joey waved goodbye on her laptop screen

he didn't turn back, her tears not seen.

Her heart hides, a love so deep

for a man she knows, not hers to keep.

Hours of happiness he has given

poems and songs he has written

and now, she knows he is gone

at her desk, nursing her pain all alone

as she reads again her words

which she has typed and saved
